The Ministry of Higher Education has confirmed that scholarships in the 19th stage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program will be reserved for only the world’s best and most distinguished universities.
The ministry has listed 200 scientific universities of international repute, which offer scholarships for academic specialties.
The statement came in a lecture delivered by Nasser Al-Fawzan, undersecretary at the Ministry of Higher Education for Scholarship Affairs, during the events of the 10th stage of the scholarship program held in Riyadh.
Al-Fawzan said the ministry has selected the universities based on the Shanghai Ranking, the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, the QS rankings, and US News.
The fields of study available in these universities will include medicine, pharmaceutical studies, medical studies, engineering, computer science, basic sciences, life studies, financial and economic sciences and law.
The undersecretary called on students who had received scholarships to search for distinguished universities to complete the process of enrolment.
He said that candidates for the 10th stage will undergo the same basic requirements of acceptance as requested by the distinguished university which has their specialty, including recommendation letters, English language tests and other standardized procedures for admissions.
